Use your phone to explore SFMOMA

The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art has devised a way to turn your cell phone or MP3 player into a multimedia gallery guide.  If your phone has the capability, you can download audio-only or image-enhanced “artcasts”; this feature is possible on a MP3 player if you search iTunes for “SFMOMA Artcasts.” Also available is audio commentary of the current exhibition Calder to Warhol and highlights from SFMOMA’s permanent collection marked with an audio tour icon.

These features are available in English, with selected stops in French, German, and Spanish, and costs you nothing except your time and your minutes.  Otherwise, the museum has hand held devices on-site for patrons to use gratis.
