British Museum digital image service

The British Museum has a free image service that delivers high quality* digital scans of many works of art in their collection. To use this service, which allows you to receive 100 images per month for non-commercial use:Suyleman Portrait Bust

  • Click the Use digital image button on any image page (located beneath the image thumbnail; if this button is missing, this service is not available for this image)
  • Register [new users] or Log In
  • Both new and returning users must submit additional details as an individual or organization representative and check the box to accept the terms of use
  • To indicate how you will use this image, make sure the Private study or research radio button is chosen and submit order

The museum will email the jpeg after a turn-around time of two working days (or often less).

*Size/Quality: Delivered as a jpeg, with the longest edge at maximum 2,500 pixels.
